Minoxidil (LoxOral®)
Clinically proven oral minoxidil for effective hair loss treatment when topical applications are not suitable or effective.
What is the FDA-approved use of Minoxidil (LoxOral®)?
Oral minoxidil is used:
- •For androgenetic alopecia when topical treatments are ineffective.
- •For patients who cannot tolerate topical minoxidil applications.
- •For more extensive hair loss requiring systemic treatment.
Limitations of Use:
- •Requires regular cardiovascular monitoring.
- •Not suitable for patients with heart or kidney disease.
- •May cause unwanted body hair growth.
Oral minoxidil requires careful medical supervision and regular monitoring.
Who should not use Minoxidil (LoxOral®)?
Do not use oral minoxidil if:
- •You have heart disease, including heart failure or recent heart attack.
- •You have kidney disease or are on dialysis.
- •You have uncontrolled high blood pressure.
- •You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- •You have a history of fluid retention or edema.
How should Minoxidil (LoxOral®) be administered?
Take exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. Start with the lowest dose and increase gradually as tolerated.
Important: Regular blood pressure monitoring and cardiovascular assessments are required during treatment.

Common Side Effects
Cardiovascular
- •Fluid retention (15% to 25%)
- •Increased heart rate (10% to 20%)
- •Lower leg swelling (10% to 15%)
Dermatologic
- •Unwanted body hair growth (80% to 90%)
Neurologic
- •Dizziness (5% to 10%)
General
- •Fatigue (5% to 8%)
Serious Side Effects
Cardiovascular
- •Heart failure
- •Pericardial effusion
- •Severe hypotension
- •Angina
Renal
- •Kidney function deterioration
Hematologic
- •Blood count abnormalities
