What is the FDA-approved use of Tadalafil Oral Tablets?

Tadalafil oral tablets are FDA-approved for:

  • Treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in men.
  • Treatment of signs and symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
  • Combined treatment of ED and BPH when both conditions are present.

Limitations of Use:

  • Not indicated for use in women or children.
  • Not recommended for men with severe cardiovascular disease.
  • Should not be used with other PDE5 inhibitors.

Tadalafil provides longer duration of action compared to other ED medications.

Who should not use Tadalafil Oral Tablets?

Do not use Tadalafil if:

  • You are taking nitrates for chest pain or guanylate cyclase stimulators.
  • You have severe cardiovascular disease or uncontrolled hypertension.
  • You have severe liver or kidney impairment.
  • You are allergic to tadalafil or any tablet component.

How should Tadalafil Oral Tablets be administered?

Take at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. Can be taken with or without food. Effects can last up to 36 hours.

Important: Do not take more than one tablet per day. The long duration means you don't need to time dosing as precisely as with other ED medications.

  • Nasal congestion (1% to 15%)
  • Upper respiratory infection (3% to 13%)

Cardiovascular

  • Hypotension
  • Myocardial infarction
  • Stroke

Reproductive

  • Priapism

Ophthalmic

  • Non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy

Otic

  • Sudden hearing loss
